As part of the Semaine franco-allemande (Franco-German Week) in Metz, ‘Startup Show 42’ brought together a selection of startups from the Greater Region
The Semaine franco-allemande takes place in Metz from 1 to 10 April during the meeting between the German and French governments. Organised in collaboration with Quattropole, this week is punctuated with various events celebrating the Greater Region: visits, conferences, sports competitions, meetings between business leaders, concerts and a Startup Show.
‘Startup Show 42’ took place on Wednesday 6 April in Metz. For the second time, this event brought together a selection of young innovative companies from the cities of Luxembourg, Metz, Saarbrücken and Trier. Covering a large range of products and services (Internet of things, FinTech, e-commerce, social networks, computer games, e-health, etc.), these young startups provided a showcase of the vibrant and creative local digital economy.
The City of Luxembourg asked nyuko to bring together a selection of innovative startups from several different economic sectors to represent the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg:
- ContinuousPHP – DevOps platform for developers
- 2Gears – Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool for investment funds professionals
- Digicash – Mobile payment app
- Linc – Internet projects accelerator
- Ellypsis – Information systems management tool
- SnapSwap – Virtual money operator, supported by Gloneta
- Pingvalue – Online platform and mobile app for targeted promotions
.
“We do our best to simplify the administrative procedures and the life of entrepreneurs, and, we hope that they find places where they can exchange skills and create mutual stimulation in Luxembourg. It is important for the City of Luxembourg to welcome innovative start-ups and to see them grow.” states Lady Polfer, mayor of Luxembourg City.

Hosted in the main location of LORnTech in Metz, the event was favourable to emulation. With a record number of attendees, it attracted politicians as well as company representatives. The stands of the start-ups welcomed curious visitors and led to fruitful exchanges. “This event was very positive for us, for several reasons: first it is dedicated to start-ups, which is significant, but it also also allowed us to interact with many people. It was sometimes unexpected but always interesting! We spoke with potential clients as well as a student looking for an internship and visitors interested in our tool.” explains Sergio Restrepo, from 2 Gears.
