The Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce launched its 3rd Innovation Contest in March. After a selection of the finalists, the pitching event took place last Monday at Lux Future Lab. The contest is based loosely on the Dragon’s Den concept of pitching ideas to potential investors with market experience.
The selected entrepreneurs were invited to pitch their project in front of a panel of “Dragons”, each for a maximum of 5 minutes. During the next 5-10 minutes, the Dragons can ask questions to better understand the business concept. This year the Dragons were a team of seasoned experts of entrepreneurship, investment, etc. The judges were
- Paul Barreveld (Entreprise Ireland)
- Larissa Best (LBAN)
- Martin Guérin (nyuko)
- Alan Ridgway (ILCC)
- Karin Schintgen (Lux Future Lab)
The dragons gathered after the 9 pitches of the finalists and distributed the prizes to their favorite projects.
Martin Guérin, CEO of nyuko, rewarded:
Represented by Julien Cuvillers and Matthias Klein, the Bar Corner is the first mobile app dedicated to bars and their events in Luxembourg.
Represented by Julien Danet and Paul Destree, ZenonCar is a local car-sharing mobile app that helps people to get back home safely, whether a passenger or a driver, as a mutual favour.
Represented by Ricardo de Sousa and Jorge De Oliveria, Smart Calendar is a smart calendar that helps final customers and service providers to communicate quick and easy to contract appointments.
The nyuko team will be happy to welcome the 3 teams in their coworking space and help them working on their projects!
